I hope the old saying that April showers bring May flowers is true. Last Fall I was at a quilt show in Stevenson, WA. I met a gentleman named Art. We got to talking about Wildflowers. I have a burm in my yard that I have always envisioned growing in native wildfires. Come to find out Art's passion in life is the propagation of native wildflowers. He sent me a small package packer wit seed. I planted them last falls and they are starting to pop out of the ground. They always fascinate me. I love the different adaptations they have so they can survive without much help from me. But you will still find me out there checking to see how they are doing.

Big sigh! I now have a break from traveling. Don't get me wrong I love attending quilt shows, seeing wonderful quilts and meeting new people. But it does get tiring. And I need to take some time to shovel out the house. I have basically run in and out for the last six weeks. It needs some help. I don't need a whip and chair for the bathroom yet, but it's getting close. Then I am so excited to get into the studio and create. I have ideas for quilted pieces. New colors for hand marbled fabric. And some fabric embellishments that I want to try. I can't wait. More coming soon

On the road again! I have had a very busy last couple of weeks. Two weekends ago I was in the Tri-Cities for the Tri-Cities Quilters Annual show. Karen Burns was the local featured artist. I have had the honor of meeting Karen and viewing a few of her pieces in the past couple of years. It was really fun to see a large body of her work all at one time. It was interesting to see how she has learned and grown.

I was at the Camano Island Quilters Quilt Show this past weekend. Lois Nay was the featured quilter. She said that she had made over 200 quilts. Wow, I guess I still have room for more. She loves bright colors, not you average Grandmother.

I will be off again. and then I am very excited to get back into the studio and create. I have some ideas for new colors. And some new pieces. I have come to the realization that I started as a seamstress that became a quilter and I really love combining the two to create wearable art pieces.

Big Sigh! It has been a very busy week. I just updated the featured fabric for my web site. this time it is Sunshine Yellow in the Nonpareil design. I started doing this design this winter, it is an ancient pattern and is one of the building blocks for creating other designs. I currently create seven designs, three are ancient designs and four are of my own creation. As I sell much of my fabric to quilters I have really tried to create patterns that are usable in a variety of situations. The Nonpareil design has been a huge hit.
